I am a co-director of Plane Sailing, which we took over in 2006. I had worked in the travel industry previously for over 15 years, starting as a Sales Consultant with Lunn Poly (which subsequently became Thomsons & then Tui) and progressed to a post as Manager. I then decided to purchase an independent agency as I felt the need to offer a more personal, efficient and caring service to my clients.

I have been lucky to have travelled extensively both personally and on business (particularly to the Caribbean, Far East and Egypt as well as most Mediterranean countries), so have accrued a wealth of personal knowledge about the travel industry. Also – being a Cruise Specialist for Thomsons for 7 years I visited countless different ports of call and went aboard many ships with all the major cruise lines, so am confident in using my expertise to recommend cruising to clients, whatever their needs. My favourite destination has to be the Maldives where I spent my honeymoon in 2009.

I am also a co-director of Plane Sailing, where l initially worked for 10 years alongside my sister (in our old premises at Birch Vale) before purchasing the business from her in 2006 when she emigrated to Australia. I didn’t work in travel before starting at Plane Sailing, but have built up a great deal of knowledge, understanding and skills as the company has developed from a ‘flights only’ seller to that of a ‘high status’ travel agency where the holiday choices are almost limitless.

Over the years we have built up a large and ever increasing customer base, who trust Plane Sailing to arrange things every time they decide to holiday. in 2007 we opened our new premises in New Mills, and this has increased our client base yet again. My favourite destinations personally are the Greek Islands, which I have visited extensively over recent years, along with Nerja in Spain, where I have had an apartment for many years. I have also enjoyed cruising around the Caribbean, a Safari in Kenya and many city breaks within Europe.
